Nicole is the best wedding planner we could've asked for!! She helped us plan the most perfect wedding from thousands of miles away. She was prompt with her responses and clear with her communication & helped us to personalize our wedding day timeline to prioritize moments that we cared about most. We can't recommend her and her team enough because our wedding day was truly the BEST DAY EVER!!

— Leo & Mai, England, UK

The girls were worth every cent and I would recommend them to anyone. It felt as if they always went above and beyond their contracted duty to make sure we had an extra special day; we really felt well looked after.

— Amanda H., Dunbar, PA

"Honestly we wouldn't have known what we would have done without them. Our family still talks about how everything went so smoothly"

— Laura S., Co. Mayo, Republic of Ireland

"our wedding was exactly what we wanted! it was perfect! I would highly recommend anyone getting married on O'ahu to use best day ecer.  They made our wedding dreams come true"

— Bill C., Redmond, WA

"I am pretty sure that if we had done it ourselves we would have ended up paying more, we wouldn't have found the quality of services that they did, we would of wasted our vacation time in Hawaii running around taking care of stuff, and it would have just generally been stressful."

— Hanaj C., Pearl City, Hawaii

"I didn't think I need help planning my small intimate wedding but I realize now how important it is to have a wedding planner. i am so grateful and appreciative!"

Generally a few days before the wedding (3-4 days) would be ideal. However, right now with Covid19, it is a little more difficult to say as things are constantly changing. The earlier you can arrive on island, the better however, most couples arrive the week of the wedding. Once booking with Best Day Ever, we will help you to figure the details out about when is the best time to arrive depending on the wedding date you choose.

How many days in advance do we need to be there before the wedding?

Paradise Cove is an intimate grassy area set on the ocean that is right next to a Luau.  There is parking for guests, restrooms on site.  It is easy to get to (great for older guests, wheelchairs and strollers and it's set right on a little beach cove.  If your vision is something a little more formal and you love the idea of walking on grass vs in the sand, Paradise Cove could be the perfect fit for you.

With this package we help you coordinate everything including hair and makeup, flowers (bouquets, etc.), leis for guests (if needed), photographer, officiant, transportation, videography and more.

Can you describe Paradise Cove in more detail?

On the morning of your wedding we check the weather report and radar and watch the rain carefully. If it is pouring all morning (this is really rare), then we'll call you and discuss options with you. 95% of the time even on a very rainy day there are patches of sunshine, especially near the ocean. Usually we wait out the passing showers and will do a ceremony in between showers. The skies usually clear beautifully and photos are magical. In Hawaii we consider rain showers to be extra blessings so don't be afraid of rain. So far we haven't had a wedding get completely rained out and even rainy days here end up being pretty. We have even had weddings go off without a hitch on hurricane/tsunami days. Please note, at Secret Island there is a covered tarp area which guests can stay if it does rain on the beach. Ceremony could also be held here but we'd prefer to wait out the rain if possible.

How likely is it to rain on my wedding day? What happens if it does rain?

Currently outdoor events (like a Secret Island wedding) have no capacity limits and it's been this way for a while now. I wouldn't expect that to change. If they do add in some type of mandate they may limit the guest count for events indoors but it's likely not to be limited outdoors. Last year when they shut everything down they brought down the guest count to 25 allowed at outdoor weddings which was the strictest restriction we've ever had (so far). It is unlikely that a smaller outdoor wedding will need to be canceled but we will keep you posted if anything changes.

Regarding travel - here are the current guidelines. https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/getting-to-hawaii/  Basically proof of vaccination or neg Covid test done within 48hrs is required. The same rules apply for eating out in restaurants.

In short, an outdoor wedding like the Secret Island wedding is the least likely to be affected by Covid19. Traveling to Hawaii will however require a vaccination or neg covid test. We will keep you updated on any changes as they occur and if for some reason you need to change the date due to Covid we will assist with everything.

worst case scenario’s what would happen if we’re not able to travel to Hawaii due to Covid?

You know you want ocean-front, but do you prefer getting married toes in the sand or in the grass? If you want a really pretty setting IN THE SAND, Secret Island is perfect. It's a fun experience for guests to ride across to the island in the catamaran boat - and the beach where the ceremony is amazing. Some brides prefer the look of grass and walking in the grass (easier in heels). If grass is your preference, you would be better at Paradise Cove or Lanikuhonua - a grassy space with ocean backdrop.  All of these spots coconut trees and are private, and very pretty, so it's totally a personal preference.

Which venue is the best pick if we want ocean-front, palm trees and a tropical setting?

frequently asked questions

We really think you'll be quite pleased with our photographers but if you're sure that you would like to bring in another photographer then we can credit you $200. Our main concern is that you are happy with how your wedding day turns out.

We want to use our own photographer, is that ok?

With the simpler beach weddings (including the Secret Island weddings) we generally do not do a rehearsal. On the day of the wedding I will be there to put everyone in place and line you up, cue the music and guide you through everything. It will feel very natural and seamless.

Do we need to have a Rehearsal?

Of course! Start a Pinterest board and start saving photos of bouquets you like, we will be asking you about flowers as we get further into planning. The cost of bouquets, flower arch, leis, etc. are not included but we work with a wonderful florist who gives us amazing pricing and does beautiful work. I will pick up the flowers for you that day and bring all the flowers to you on the day of the wedding. If you aren’t sure on colors or types of bouquets we have samples from which you can choose your favorites.

Do I get to pick the flowers and colors?

We are happy to send you a personalized outline of recommended places to stay, things to do, places to eat, etc.  Just let us know once booking and we'll work on a detailed list for you to help create your perfect Hawaii experience and vacation.

Any recommendations on places to stay near the wedding ceremony venue?

Yes, most definitely! You just need to make sure that your friend is ordained and that he or she is registered with the State of Hawaii to do the wedding. This must be done a few weeks prior to your wedding.

My friend is going to officiate, is that ok?

We will send you a map with directions and details on the exact location after you book. There is parking on-site near the ceremony location or we can help to set up transportation for you and your guests. If you decide to add in transportation for yourselves and your guests we will get the transportation company detailed directions before the ceremony.

What is the address / directions to paradise cove?
